Tune into the Solar Eclipse with Lessons in the Key of Today for Monday August 21st, 2017:
The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others.
Everything you have done, everything you have experienced, all that you have learned, all that you have felt, the highs and the lows, all of it, up to this moment, is on purpose. Because all of life is on purpose.
It has all contributed to the sum of what you know and to your reason for being here on the planet: to offer a hand up to someone else. You are here to love, to heal, to comfort, to liberate, to encourage, to guide, to cheer on someone else. Maybe a lot of someone elses. It doesn’t matter how many or how few, it simply matters. “Also cry.” He put his hand on his own belly. “Ha ha ha,” he said, pressing his hand to show me the motion of his stomach. Then his expression changed to sad. “Huh huh huh,” he heaved with exaggerated sobs, pressing his stomach again. “Same place. Not healthy to push down.”
― Patrick Rothfuss, The Wise Man’s Fear
Remember how the grownups in your life used to say ‘Oh well, there’s no use crying over spilled milk?’ The weekend holds a departure or a release that will ultimately offer a silver lining, but may require some attending to, or cleaning up.

The player of the inner game comes to value the art of relaxed concentration above all other skills; he discovers a true basis for self-confidence; and he learns that the secret to winning any game lies in not trying too hard.
–W. Timothy Gallwey, The Inner Game of Tennis: The Classic Guide to the Mental Side of Peak Performance

These times carry uncertainty, perhaps an unknown destination, and occasionally some turbulent waters. Have no fear, though, for there is always the calm after the storm.
I wonder… what is it you wish for? An end to personal or collective suffering? Love? Happiness? Contentment? Joy? A sense of self? Rewards for a job well done? Forgiveness? Comfort? Peace? Self-expression? Freedom from fear? Continue reading “Aug 18th: The Secret to Winning”→
