I Dare You to Move

Key of Today Friday

Common sense is genius dressed in working clothes. -Ralph Waldo Emerson

What does it take to effect change? How do you get ideas into the manifest? It all begins within the imagination. A cycle begins today for the next three weeks that allows us to use our powers of imagination, ideas and intangible thoughts and ground them into tangible action. What is one step you have before you that could make life a little better for yourself or your family or your world? What is holding you back? When you take a moment to courageously consider that one small step that you could take toward creativity and the creation of something new, you will likely find yourself feeling empowered and ready to take more action. That is the thing about being in action…it begs for more action. There is momentum that comes with movement. As you take a step, the Universe takes two, cheering you on. But you have to move first. You have to create it your mind and then take the next right action.

During this cycle, common sense prevails, and following your passion is what grows that sense of abundance we desire. Instead of allowing conversations to degenerate into complaining, I suggest focusing on potential. Instead of bemoaning what is, discuss what might be possible with a little attention and a little elbow grease. You can do this.

Remember, what you focus on grows. What do you want to grow right now? What is one small action you can take to move your energy toward what you want most? I dare you to move, to lift yourself up off the floor…and keep moving. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Key of Today Thursday

If you realize that all things change, there is nothing you will try to hold on to.   — Lao Tzu, Tao Te Ching

There is a shake up happening. We are investigating the facts vs. fiction of our lives. We are considering the source of our beliefs and opinions and testing if they hold value. If you think back to last November, around Thanksgiving time, there’s a similar energy peaking out again now. What were you feeling then, or experiencing then, that is reminiscent of what is happening today? You are likely a bit wiser now. You may have had a bit of a sad awakening back then. You may have felt propelled to dig deep and make some substantial changes in your life. Maybe you just sat down and couldn’t quite get back up because the heaviness was more than you could navigate. Maybe deep feelings of anger came rushing to the surface and could no longer be denied. Or perhaps you simply decided to take a new direction or a road without a map. Whatever it was, looking back, you can see now that it was the beginning of a kind of largess, the kind you didn’t know existed.

Today’s energy is going to peak again, one more time, in August of this year. But this environment will remain and the effects will continue through the year. It will be like a backdrop for our lives for the next while. It can be tempting at times such as this to look at the externals and believe what you see. I suggest avoiding that temptation. Being overly attached to your beliefs, opinions and fears is not healthy, nor does it serve your inner peace well. Ease up on your grip and stop white knuckling life. Choose faith over fear, intuition over anxiety, as though your life depended on it. Your peace depends on it.

There is an ancient Icelandic word for intuition, InnSaei, meaning ‘the sea within,’ referring to the borderless nature of our inner world, a constantly moving world of vision, feelings and imagination beyond words and sight. It can also mean “to see within” which means to know yourself, and to know yourself well enough to be able to put yourself in other people’s shoes. And it can mean “to see from the inside out” which is to have a strong inner compass to navigate your way in our ever-changing world.

When you are tempted to trust in what you see with your eyes, try to take a step back and trust with your inner sight. It may tell you a different story. Trusting your intuition is like saying you are willing to walk by faith. It is an inner commitment to not give into fear, anxiety or worry that comes from just looking at what you see as all there is. The trust factor in all this is not always the most comfortable place to be, but I suggest that intuition is your saving grace. There is no fear in this kind of faith.

Release the fear. Trust your intuition. Make space for your inner wisdom.

Imagination and plans

Key of Today Wednesday

First comes thought; then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe, is in your imagination.    — Napoleon Hill

Endings. Chapters close. New ones begin. Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings’ end.

Imagination. Miss S makes no pretense that she is anything but a figment of the imagination of a woman intent on bringing peace to your day. Together, we have a commitment to the idea that peace worldwide starts from inside.

As you imagine what you might like to do with your future, your new beginning, look for small clues as to what you should do next. They are there, lovingly provided for you. You have the chance now to not just dream it, but be it. As Miss S often says, paraphrasing Thoreau, put foundations under your castles. Conversations today may get to the bare bones of a matter, perhaps getting to the point without mincing words, and wading through the muck until the path is clear. You may have more than one chat with someone about the state of things. But each of them is likely to contain an omen or a sign of your next right action. Staying alert, listening, conscious observing is the idea for today. Mulling is good, but don’t forget to act, too.

In order to make the necessary changes that both you and the world need right now, it is imperative that you are centered. It may seem like only a small flame inside you at the moment, but when that light is combined with all the others that are fanning themselves into brilliance, the outcome is a light that will dispel any and all shadows. This energy may seem harsh, but keep in mind that seasons change. These are labor pains, something new is being born, and the child in the birth canal is full of hope and light.

Release. Imagine the divine possibilities. Then take a step.
